Finding a home in Seoul: before you sign

Before viewing homes, write down your deposit, monthly rent and total bills budget, plus your commute. This is Settler’s preparation checklist.
1. At a viewing Check the actual address and room. Ask which charges are included in maintenance fees and which utilities are separate. Do not decide to sign based only on photos or advertisements.
2. Before signing Seoul’s guide recommends checking ownership and the property register. Match the address, deposit, rent, term and parties on the contract. Ask for explanations before signing anything unclear.
3. Get help People living alone in Seoul, or planning to, can check the city’s safe-contract assistance, including consultation and viewing accompaniment. Confirm local eligibility and book first.
