Using a public library as a foreign resident in Seoul

Source checked ·

Foreign residents can use Seoul public libraries subject to each library’s requirements. Check reading-room access and borrowing conditions separately.

• Membership: ask which identification documents are required, such as a residence card or domestic residence report card. Some libraries may request a passport. • Choose your purpose: borrowing books, Korean-learning materials, a study space or digital resources.

Membership and services vary. Follow the public-library finder in the official guide, then check your chosen library’s closing days and procedures.
