Finding a home in Suwon: questions before signing

Before viewing homes, write down your preferred neighborhood, move-in date, length of stay and budgets for the deposit, rent and maintenance charges. The following is Settler's suggested preparation checklist; it does not verify any property or contract.

1. Collect the address, listing screenshots, quoted amounts and what each payment includes. 2. Ask the agent: “What does the maintenance charge cover?”, “Where does the contract describe repairs before move-in and charges at move-out?”, and “Which documents show who I am contracting with and the deposit-return terms?” Request an explanation or advice so you can understand the answers before deciding whether to sign. 3. If language makes the discussion difficult, call the Suwon Migrant Community Service Center (031-223-0075), describe your language and questions, and ask whether housing-related guidance or a referral is available. The city guide lists multilingual counseling; it does not guarantee property-contract review or accompanied visits.

Once your move is arranged, ask the relevant authority whether your residence status requires an address-change report, its deadline and the documents needed. This article does not establish a legal deadline. Suwon's Human Call Center, 1899-3300, accepts everyday-life complaints; home-repair support has separate eligibility conditions.
