Source checked ·

In an emergency, call 119 and explain your location and what has happened. The steps below are for preparing a routine medical visit.

Before visiting • Briefly describe your symptoms to the clinic and ask which department to book, when registration closes and whether your preferred language is available. • Prepare identification, information about your health-insurance enrollment, current medication names and allergies. Ask whether previous medical records or a referral letter are needed. • Note when the problem started and the questions you want to ask.

At the clinic Complete reception checks, attend the consultation and ask again if an explanation is unclear. After payment, take any prescription to the pharmacy as directed. Check whether another visit is needed and which documents you should receive.

Useful question: “처음 방문합니다. 어느 진료과로 예약하면 되나요? 영어/중국어 안내가 가능한가요?” This means, “This is my first visit. Which department should I book? Is English/Chinese assistance available?” Ask the hospital about costs, insurance coverage and English receipts.
