Finding Korean classes in Daejeon: local, university and online
Source checked ·
Start with your goal: everyday conversation, preparation for university study or a Korean-language test. Then note your present level and the days and times you can attend.
Where to look • Local classes: ask about the Korean classes at Daejeon’s foreign-resident support center. The city’s official page confirms this program area and the main number, 042-223-0789. • University programs: the guide lists language-education contacts at Chungnam National University, KAIST, Hannam, Woosong, Pai Chai, Hanbat, Daejeon and Mokwon universities. Ask each institution whether non-students can enroll. • Online study: printed page 130 lists online learning services. Check whether a suitable course is self-paced or teacher-led.
Before applying, ask about eligibility and open enrollment; placement or level assessment; dates, attendance rules and online/in-person format; and tuition, books, documents and application steps.
Useful question: “한국어 초급이고 주말에 수업을 듣고 싶어요. 지금 신청할 수 있는 반이 있나요? 교재비와 필요한 서류도 알려 주세요.” This means, “I am a beginner and would like weekend classes. Is a class open for applications? Please also explain book costs and required documents.”
